INTRODUCTION ABOUT IVERHEAL 12 TABLET

IVERHEAL 12 TABLET contains Ivermectin which belongs to a group of medicines called antiparasitic agents. It is used for the management of parasitic infections such as intestinal strongyloidiasis (infection in the intestine caused by a type of roundworm called Strongyloides stercoralis), infections caused by Wuchereria bancrofti in blood and tissues, and human scabies (infectious disease of the skin) when previous management has failed. It is also used for the management of onchocerciasis (parasitic disease caused by Onchocerca volvulus, known as river blindness).

Before taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have a condition called Loa loa (eye infection) or have a weakened immune system and are taking any other medicines for other conditions.

IVERHEAL 12 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless advised by a doctor. Contact your doctor before taking this medicine.

The safety and effectiveness of IVERHEAL 12 TABLET in children weighing less than 15 kg have not been evaluated. IVERHEAL 12 TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above).

The most common side effects of taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET are diarrhoea, nausea, dizziness, itching, and fast heart rate. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

USES OF IVERHEAL 12 TABLET

It is used to manage:

• Intestinal strongyloidiasis
• Parasitic infection caused by Wuchereria bancrofti in blood and tissues
• Human scabies after previous management has failed
• Onchocerciasis (river blindness)

HOW IVERHEAL 12 TABLET WORKS

Iverheal 12 Tablet binds to the nerve and muscle cells of the parasites and destroys them, thus helping in managing various parasitic infections.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take IVERHEAL 12 TABLET as advised by your physician.

For Tablet: Swallow IVERHEAL 12 TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. But children under 6 years of age should crush the medicine before swallowing.

For Dispersible Tablet: Dissolve IVERHEAL 12 TABLET in the specified quantity of water as advised by your doctor. Consume immediately after reconstituting the mixture.

The dose and duration will be decided by your doctor based on your age, body weight and disease condition.

SIDE EFFECTS OF IVERHEAL 12 TABLET

COMMON

• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Dizziness
• Joint pain, synovitis
• Axillary lymph, inguinal or cervical lymph node enlargement and tenderness
• Itching
• Edema, facial and peripheral edema
• Papular and pustular or frank urticarial rash
• Fever
• Inflammation of the corneal limbus
• Fast heart rate
• Low blood pressure when standing up from sitting or lying position (orthostatic hypotension)

UNCOMMON

• Abnormal physical weakness
• Stomach pain
• Sleepiness, vertigo (spinning sensation of the head)
• Shakiness
• Rash, urticaria
• Headache, muscle pain

Stop taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

• Allergic reaction (such as rash, hives, itching, sudden fever and difficulty breathing)

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Diarrhea: Drink plenty of fluids such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid self-medication to control diarrhea. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.

Dizziness Or Drowsiness: Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any equipment or machinery when you feel dizzy. Do not consume alcohol as it may worsen dizziness. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.

Headache: Drink plenty of water and do not skip meals. Take adequate rest. Try to stay stress-free and relaxed. Apply pain-relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptoms do not improve.

Stomach Pain: Rest and stay relaxed. Eat and drink slowly or try eating small and frequent meals. Place a heat pad on your abdomen. Do not self-treat and consult a doctor if symptoms do not resolve on their own.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY: The use of IVERHEAL 12 TABLET during pregnancy is not recommended unless it is clearly needed. Contact your doctor before taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET.

BREASTFEEDING: IVERHEAL 12 TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless it is clearly needed. Consult your doctor before taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES: Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy, drowsy, shaky or lightheaded after taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET.

ALLERGY: Do not take IVERHEAL 12 TABLET if you are allergic to ivermectin or any other ingredient of this medicine. It should be used with caution in patients with other allergies such as food additives, preservatives or colours.

USE IN PEDIATRICS: The safety and effectiveness of IVERHEAL 12 TABLET have not been evaluated in children weighing less than 15 kg. In children under 6 years of age, the medicine should be crushed before swallowing. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.

USE IN GERIATRICS: IVERHEAL 12 TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (65 years and older). Consult your doctor before taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET.

OTHERS

Before taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug interactions: Before taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

• Diethylcarbamazine citrate (DEC) (used to manage lymphatic filariasis)
• Warfarin (used to manage blood clots)

B. Drug-Food interactions:

Do not take food 2 hours before or two hours after taking IVERHEAL 12 TABLET.

Overdosage:

If you or someone else accidentally takes an overdose of IVERHEAL 12 TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. Symptoms of overdose include rash, hives, contact dermatitis, swelling, headache, dizziness, unusual body weakness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, seizures, impaired coordination, difficulty breathing, tingling or prickling sensation in the arms, hands, legs or feet, decreased alertness, sleepiness or drowsiness, altered consciousness, coma, confusion, disorientation, and death.
